Bedding and Container Color Plant Integrated Pest Management
Welcome to the UC Davis Bedding and Container Color Plant Integrated Pest Management program. Our mission is to develop and implement best management practices for the bedding and container color industry that will enhance sustainability and profitability.
This collaborative effort includes UC Davis and UC Riverside faculty and staff, UC Cooperative Extension farm advisors, allied industry professionals, and growers.
Novel, research-based IPM methods developed at the University are tested and refined in the field to provide practical solutions for growers. This project ran from 2010 to 2013. A progress report on field studies is available: Bedding plant IPM Fall 2012 root rots, as is a best management practices manual developed as part of this work: Bedding and Container Color Plant Best Management Practices.
Major funding for this project has been provided by the California Department of Food and Agriculture and the United States Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
We encourage you to visit the University of California Statewide Integrated Pest Management web site for information on the biology and management of bedding and container color pests.
