DAVIS--Upcoming insect outreach events during the month of May:
137th Annual Dixon May Fair
Thursday-Sunday, May 10-13
655 S. First St., Dixon
The Department of Entomology wil display a bee observation hive and the Bohart Museum of Entomology will showcase insect specimens in the Floriculture Building. Another Bohart display in the Ag Area. Both are open during fair hours. See Dixon May Fair website.
Whole Earth Festival

Kids' Area: Maggot Art, and walking stick insects coordinated by the Bohart Museum of Entomology
Bohart Museum of Entomology Open House: Moth'er's Day

1 to 4 p.m.,

All about moths. Also caterpillar craft activity featuring paper and chopsticks
Center for Talented Youth Workshop
Saturday, May 19
Academic Surge Building classroom, California Drive, UC Davis campus
11:30 to 1:30 p.m.
UC Davis entomologists Phil Ward, Jenella Loye and Scott Carroll will talk to junior high-aged kids and their parents about insects: collecting, using microscopes, etc.
