Why I like Entomology: I grew up in the Brandywine river valley. One porch light can attract a swarm of very diverse insects. As a child I was mesmerized, but had no idea a discipline existed for their observation. I was applying to art schools in my senior year of high school when someone mentioned "entomology", and I remember thinking, "OK. Maybe I will have to take chemistry after all!" In particular I love collecting trips and identification.

Future Plans: I will take time off after graduation to research possible PhD programs. I may try to complete a MFA during this time, with a focus on scientific illustration and photography.
