Currently, I work as a research associate in Dr. Gregory Lanzaro’s laboratory processing microsatellite data on Anopheles gambiae. I have been with the group since July 2006. I graduated from UC Davis in 2006 with a bachelor of science degree. in biological sciences with a neurobiology, physiology, and behavior emphasis and minor in English.
Dr. Lanzaro’s research strengthens our understanding of the population genetics of Anopheles gambiae, a main vector of malaria in Africa. With this research, the potential to attenuate the spread of malaria increases tremendously. My current interests reside in microbiology and immunology as well as molecular biology.
