Research Interests

My research focuses on the ecology and epidemiology of infectious diseases with an emphasis on the modeling of mosquito-borne diseases.  I use field studies together with theoretical models to: (1) better understand how spatial heterogeneity and vector, host, and pathogen movement influence disease dynamics, and (2) provide tools for improving disease prevention and human health.

Major Areas of Research

  • Mosquito Ecology
  • Modeling Mosquito-Borne Diseases
  • Spatial dynamics of plant pathogens
