Education:

B.A. in History-Africa/Middle East, Santa Clara University (2002 - 2006)

Research:

My Research is focused on understanding the feeding patterns of Culex pipiens complex mosquitoes in Sacramento and Yolo counties in order to evaluate its role as a vector of West Nile Virus. Essentially, my project entails collecting blood fed C. pipiens and then analyzing the source of their blood meal. My research will also hopefully lead to a better understanding of habitat and resting behavior of this species complex. This will have practical applications for the Sacramento Yolo Mosquito and Vector Control District in terms of mosquito abatement.
