Host lab: Becky Westerdahl, Nematology
Completing a thesis option during 2004

Project Description:
I am a second year student in the Integrated Pest Management Program at UCDavis. I received a B.S. degree from UCD in Environmental Horticulture and a minor in Agricultural Entomology. I became interested in the IPM program because of my interest in plant protection, which involves many aspects of biological interactions.

I am studying the biology of the nematode Anguina pacificae and its parasitism of Poa annua grass. My study sites include the Olympic Club golf course (south of San Francisco) and the Poppy Hill golf course (Pebble Beach, Monterey).

My thoughts:
The growth of human society demands a more responsible treatment of the environment. I believe that by understanding the biology of organisms we can reduce our impact on the environment.
