DAVIS—The UC Davis Department of Entomology has launched Bug Bytes, a quarterly publication for alumni, faculty, students, staff and friends.

"It's been an exciting year," wrote department chair Lynn Kimsey in the "Welcome to Bug Bytes" section. "Our entomology department last November was named the best in the country by the Chronicle of Higher Education, considered the top news and job-information source for college and university faculty members, administrators and students."

The first edition includes:
