Entomology Major and Minor Advising

The Entomology (ENT) Advising Team is committed to providing prospective, new, and continuing students with academic support throughout their educational experience. This includes a variety of advising services and resources for students from staff, peer, and lead faculty advisors who are eager to help you through your journey here at UC Davis.

Have questions? We can answer! Send advising questions to ent-advise@ucdavis.edu.

Which advisor should I meet with?

Academic (Major) Advisor
You academic advisor can advise you on courses specific to major and minor requirements, finding career opportunities, and connect you with campus resources. The academic advisor is your first point of contact in the advising team. She can assist with yearly check-ins, preliminary degree checks, staying on track to graduate, and assist with unique situations.

Peer Advisor
You can meet with a peer advisor during their drop-in advising hours or by requesting an appointment for general academic advising, course recommendations, and advice on finding research and internship opportunities.

Lead Faculty Advisor
They can help guide students through their academic, research, and professional journeys.

What type of advising appointment do I need?

Advising Appointments: Advising appointments are offered by staff and peer advisors all year (Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer). These are 30 minute appointments for prospective, new, and continuing students with questions or concerns that will require a longer appointment.

Drop-in Advising: Drop-in advising is offered by both staff and peer advisors during the regular academic year (Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters). It is best for students with quick questions, as drop-in advising sessions are 15 minutes. This type of advising is first-come, first-served and may be hosted in-person and/or virtually on Zoom.

*Advising hours and availability are subject to change at any time.
