Scientists Dispute Climate-Warming Hypothesis About Massive Ag Pest Populations

The widespread “pest-proliferation hypothesis” that climate warming will result in unprecedented agricultural pest populations and lead to monumental food insecurity worldwide is oversimplified, a nine-member team of entomologists and ecologists led by UC Davis entomologist Mia Lippey declared today.

Two newly installed large-scale murals located behind the UC Davis Arboretum's Plant Nursery on Garrod Drive will be unveiled at a grand opening celebration at 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 21 during the 15th annual UC Davis Biodiversity Museum Day.

A Crowdfund Drive to Raise $10,000 for UC Davis Art/Science Fusion Program

The UC Davis Art/Science Fusion Program, where UC Davis undergraduate students connect science with art, creating and installing ceramic-mosaic art for permanent display in public places--has been selected for a UC Davis Crowdfund campaign. 

The goal: to raise $10,000 during the month of October.
