Master's degree candidate Shah Alam of the Amanda Hodson lab, UC Davis Department of Entomology and Nematology, will present his exit seminar on "Management Strategies and Disease Interactions of Resistance Breaking Root-Knot Nematodes" at 1 p.m., Friday, Sept. 4 in Room 176 of Hutchinson Hall. 

Alam, to receive his degree in September, holds a bachelor's degree in agriculture, Patuakhali Science and Technology University, Bangladesh (2017).

Meet UC Davis doctoral alumna Amanda Hodson, assistant professor of soil ecology and pest management, and one of the newer members of the UC Davis Department of Entomology and Nematology (ENT) faculty. She coordinated the department's seminars for the 2024-25 academic year.

UC Davis doctoral alumna Fiona Goggin, professor of entomology and plant pathology at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, will speak on "Plant Defensive Signaling and Its Impacts on Herbivory, Plant Growth, and Development" at the UC Davis Department of Entomology and Nematology seminar on Monday, April 21.

"Nematodes as Bioindicators of Soil Health and Climate Resiliency."

That's the title of the next UC Davis Department of Entomology and Nematology seminar, to be presented Monday, Nov. 25 by Christine Sprunger, associate professor of soil science at Michigan State University (MSU).
