A Visit to the Newly Renovated UC Davis Bee Haven

“A hidden gem.”

That’s how the Vacaville Museum Guild president described the UC Davis Department of Entomology and Nematology's newly renovated UC Davis Bee Haven.

The half-acre bee demonstration garden, installed in 2009 on Bee Biology Road, next to the Harry H. Laidlaw Jr. Honey Bee Research Facility, has sprung to life with more plants, more pollinators, and more projects since its renovation launched last summer.

The Haven's New Garden Coordinator

Hearing a queen bee piping is music to her ears.  So is the shimmering sound of the harp.

Meet Samantha Murray, the newly selected garden coordinator of the UC Davis Bee Haven, a pollinator and demonstration garden installed in the fall of 2009 by the UC Davis Department of Entomology and Nematology (ENT). Although undergoing restoration since last summer, The Haven continues to be open to the public from dawn to dusk.
