Lexie Martin Receives National Pollinator Fellowship

 

Doctoral candidate Alexia "Lexie" Martin of the laboratory of Rachel Vannette, professor and vice chair of the UC Davis Department of Entomology and Nematology, has received a Garden Club of America (GSA) Board of Associates Centennial Pollinator Fellowship for her research on the native bees, Osmia.

Her research: "Non-Native Horn-Face Bees (Osmia cornifrons) as Possible Disease Reservoirs for Native Blue Orchard Bees (Osmia lignaria)."

UC Davis in Major Roles at ESA Conference in Portland, Ore.

 

Molecular geneticist and physiologist Joanna Chiu, professor and chair of the UC Davis Department of Entomology and Nematology--and internationally recognized for her research on the molecular and cellular mechanisms that regulate circadian and seasonal biology and on invasive species genomics--will be celebrated as a newly selected Fellow at the Entomological Society of America (ESA) plenary session on Sunday, Nov. 9.
