Targeting the Yellow-Fever Mosquito

 

Mackenzie Yedlin, a doctoral candidate, The Rockefeller University, will speak on "Choreographing Reproduction: Redefining Sex Steroid Hormone Mechanisms in Aedes aegypti Mosquitoes" at the UC Davis Department of Entomology and Nematology seminar on Wednesday, Oct. 7.

Meet Lisa Baik, Newest Member of the ENT Faculty

 

UC Davis alumna Lisa Baik, a former postdoctoral researcher at Yale University and described as a “brilliant scientist,” is the newest member of the UC Davis Department of Entomology and Nematology  (ENT) faculty.

Baik joined the faculty this fall, accepting a position as assistant professor of insect biology.

Mosquitoes are often annoying and sometimes can be deadly.

Medical entomologist-geneticist Geoffrey Attardo, associate professor, UC Davis Department of Entomology and Nematology, will discuss the risks of mosquito-borne diseases in California at a free seminar sponsored by the Center for Land-Based Learning (CLBL) on “Natural Mosquito Control” on Wednesday, May 15.
